help... gas in vacuum lines??? 01 Ninja 750
so me and a buddy are having trouble with his bike we took it apart and he has gas in his vacuum lines... i have no idea how / where / what is going on....
anyone want to recommend someone that can take a look at it (without breaking the bank) my friend isnt looking to spend a million dollars fixing it...

pm skroozloose...i think he is still working for a shop...but if nothing else he may be doing side work...

does it have a vacuum petcock? If so the diaphram is probably leaking and dumping fuel into the vacuum tract. (I'm assuming you're talking about a zx7, which is carb'ed), OR if the carb vents are clogged, and the float needle/seats are leaking, I guess the fuel could get into the lines that way.
If it was a fuel injected bike I'd say check the fuel pressure regulator, the methanol they put in gas these days tends to dry out/eat rubber, andf the pressured fuel from the pump blows gas into the vacuum lines. (usually happens on Honda's more often though)
anyway, I don't work at there any more, I got a job at FTW cycles off london bridge, so if anyone is looking for me....I'm there more often than not.
