Thats pretty much what you have to do to get it to fit. For my swap I had a box made and welded into the firewall so it looks cleaner, but either way you have to do something with the firewall

Now what he did with the waterlines is just cheap. There are a bunch of kits that relocate them to the front so you don't have to have like 8000 miles worth of piping in your bay.
