lowering vtec engagement??

Exclamation lowering vtec engagement??

does lowering the vtec hurt the ECU or the motor?? i was thinking about lettin fabrik8 do it to my 97 civic ex and i just had questions?? thankx in advance

The only thing it could hurt would be losing power if you lower it too much. Lowering the VTEC point won't hurt the ECU and if it hurts the motor that means the motor was done for anyway.

my 97 civic ex stock is set at 5500rpm and i was thinking of going down to 4900? is that too much or what? and my motor has only got 88 1/2K miles on it so i think its got a lot of life left...ALOT

at its got to be set at a stock 5500 for a reason? why is that?

i believe redline is around 6900-7000rpm.

vtec was designed to be where it is...its there for a reason. dont mess with the engagement point unless you have a differen cam.
