By the law, by it's very definition, there are OEM dash displays which are illegal.

§ 46.2-1077. Motor vehicles not to be equipped with television within view of driver; viewing motion pictures or similar displays while driving.

....

B. Except for displays explicitly authorized in subsection A, no driver of any motor vehicle shall view any motion picture or similar video display while driving.
My daily driver has 'motion pictures' on an LCD in the center of the driver's dash between the tach and speedo. One of them is always fussing at me to put washer fluid in and has a whole animated sequence for it...

I tried calling a good family friend about it who is a local cop, he has never been overly strict when dealing with any modified car but I couldnt get a hold of him. Ill try and ask him asap and get back to you. But next time if your just logging you might wanna close the laptop or dim the screen.

Unless the admission was already made that it was being used for a different purpose at the time of the incident.

Most Def fightable, all new high end cars come w/ built in GPS screens/ DVD players and they are viewable while driving. Dont pay it, the judge will prolly throw it out. How did the cop see it anyway?
