Car dying while running
does it die like electrical system wise? If it cranks slow after it shuts off and the lights dont work and shit that means its a starting system problem. If it cranks fine after it dies then its either the main relay or the distributor.
I'm agreeing with everyone it sounds electrical. I'd suggest you recharge the battery and start it, take of the power supply from the battery and if the car still runs the alternator is fine if it dies you need a new alternater. I hope i was somewhat helpful.
Man chris, I didnt even look at the lights. But it does crank slow or not at all after it dies, and it needs to be jumped. I just got a pm from a guy who had the same issue and he said honda told him it was the distributor and after that it was fine. I'll check into that.
Hmmm.... judging by that reply, it sounds like the charging system now, lol. No battery light, but that doesn't necessarily rule it out. Check all the grounds and do a voltage check at the battery today when you get it started up. Also check for voltage output at the alternator as well to rule out a bad alternator or just connections or wiring in between.
i've had a crx and a prelude do the same thing weak start and die for no reason on both cars in was my main relay but i would check the power supply and grounds first then the relay before the dizzy
When you first turn your car key on to the start position, check and make sure that the battery light illuminates, then shuts off.
It could be an intermittent alternator problem, especially if it was a Reman. from Advance. When people turn in their alternators for cores, advance will ship it to the warehouse, they will do a load check and if they see no problem, they won't replace it, they'll just clean it, ship it and box it. Your Alternator could also be exceeding its Duty cycle, and overcharging and then cause the battery to be weak since it is overheating the battery's cells.
Def. check your electrical system. The problem could very well be hidden.
and it could also be a on the edge failing coil in your distributor.
