if i take the head gasket off the head and the block wont seal right wouldnt it?

You want high compression for a D-Series... this is the way to go.

OEM metal headgasket won't increase compression douchcanoe. You can bore your cylinders, increase stroke, or switch out your pistons to something with a more severe dome top...or you can buy a thicker headgasket (and the ARP's because you'd be stupid not to). And Cometic's cheap compared to buying new pistons.

The context of that particular post was not to use a cometic headgasket to raise compression, it was to use a cometic headgasket period. The only way an OEM metal HG will increase compression is to remove a layer (which is fucking ignorant IMO). OEM > cometic any day of the week.
