Body Kits

Re: Body Kits
You're right I can't afford/find a cossie. I am a college student on a budget and got a car I could afford big deal doesn't mean I wouldn't like to clean it up. I'm not a fan of hondas aside the s2000, and really the only jap cars I am into are Nissans. I am not trying to put work into my car to take it to a show I just want to fix up what I have for now.

leave the escort alone, save the money you were gonna put on the body kit and spend it on a date. with a girl. and it will save her from asking you "why is there a body kit on your ford escort"
everyone wins.

Re: Body Kits
a body kit won't 'clean' anything up, it will actually make it look worse. only in the rarest of occasions can a body kit actually improve the look of a car, and on an escort it really wouldn't be worth it.
as everyone has told you already, 10 years ago body kits were the joint. escorts were tolerable back then, too- because they were new and for the most part kept up with the typical honda/acura 'enthusiast' crowd with intake/header/exhaust, which cost around ~$1500-2000 and netted all of about 7 whp. that doesn't fly anymore, because there are inexpensive factory turbo cars that cost as much in 2005 as an integra/civic si cost in 2000 (i.e., srt-4, wrx, even the hyundai genesis) that just make those cars look silly. and the wild body kits were a fad that lasted about 3 years, and all other body kits that stood a chance at being tasteful were ruined by the fact that 98% of those who had them either a) never painted them, b) painted them very shittily just to not be made fun of and now look like ass, or c) cracked them all to shit within a couple months after installation.
save your money, buy something else. i'm SURE you can do better than an escort lx.
