if you scroll about half way down the page you'll see what I mean by cutting out the "cat hump" but I plan on completely removing the hump and relocating the bolt hole that sits on top of it.

and if you scroll down on this one you can see how the floor looks when it is stock. (this dude did work on this coupe...extra clean!!!)

If you can get someone to roll a new section of sheet metal to replace that hump then you should be golden. If you can just notch the hump (like that writeup) that may still be the simplest option though, and the least invasive. I wouldn't remove that stamped crossbrace if you can help it (it's been removed in the writeup) to keep the sills and floorpan rigid.
You definitely want to keep a generous radius along the transmission tunnel to maintain as much chassis rigidity as you can.

I plan on removing the brace, but replacing it with a 1/4" steel strip. I'm going to try to take it out as one piece (without bending it) and bend the steel strip to match the contours, then weld the strip directly to the floor, with some spots reinforced by doubling up the steel. (like along the bends)

I figured as along as I'm in there ripping stuff out, I might as well put something good back in it. haha Plus I would rest a little easier knowing the car will hold up better if I were to ever get T-boned.
