I used to go to Summerduck all the time. I started going to Old Dominion and consistantly went a few tenths faster with the same setup.

Old Dominion also takes better care of their track and it has a nicer surface. I have seen cars spew s**t on the track and most of the time Summerduck doesn't even stop the cars running to clean it up. I observed that at T&Ts, on race days they did a better job.

Also the no tech, no helmet at O.D. kicks ass

Ive raced both. Summer duck is slightly uphill and you can easily see that when you get to the track. the track is good though. Old domion is strait not down or uphill but some days the track condition can be decent and some days can suck ass.. but old domion to me is the better 8th mile.

OD is R E D N E C K. Hard core. You can buy a spectators ticket and pretend like you paid to race, then race. I like it tho. The track is pretty good I guess. I def get better times there than Summer Duck. Its pretty sticky. So sticky, I broke my trans. And its smaller/less popular, you can get more runs in compared to SD. Summer Duck IMO sucks really. For some reason my car and a few others' when launching, the car will pop out of gear. I dont know its odd but its only happened at SD. I think it might be the incline. Its also a little harder to stage there.

cliff notes - old dominion.

Well the thing I found out this weekend is that OD is kind of small. Do you think we can get 500-700 cars in there???

No it should be mostly show cars. If you think about how many people come to the meets how many of them ARE GOING TO WANT TO RUN. Then how many are going to show. Most I think will just watch and we will be running 8 classes. And this will be street cars only.

All Motor - Street tires and All motor - slicks
Turbo - Street tires and Turbo - slicks
V6 and up all motor - Street tires and V6 and up all motor - slicks
V6 and up pwr - Street tires and V6 and up pwr - slicks

I like OD better just b/c its closer. My step dad has been racing his drag cars for like 15 years at both OD and SD. As far as track conditions it all depends on the day. At OD they wont prep the track on there test and tune days. they just dont care to. As for the duck i dont know, havent been there since late last year. But both tracks are under new ownership. And of like last month both tracks are using the same timing equipment.

Are we trying to get a meet together at a track, if so i could talk to the owner at OD.
