Wideband is how they get the A/F ratio and all of that good stuff. And as far as why does it cost so much, a dyno machine costs about 25k, maybe more. And hey, it is a source for revenue. There are about 5 or so Dyno's around the area however, someone else might be cheaper, but everyplace has their downfalls and shortcomings. Personally, I've never dynoed my car, so i dont know who is better than anyone else, but VASPEED's dyno rate seems to be average.

We are below average for the US. Its as high as $99 for 2 pulls with no wideband in some areas. For an inground chassis dyno by the time its said and done, its around $60 k. Plus we always use the newest software.
