Default Vtec Solenoid Question

Would it affect my b16 if i ran it without the Vtec Solenoid connected? Because my solenoid is missing the inside of the plastic piece where it connects. So i was wondering if it would mess up my motor in any way if i ran it without it connected.

by disconnected, are you talking like unplugged (you'll be fine), or like unbolted from the motor (not so fine)?
