Default Question about tires

Alright, I have a question, and I think the morons at most shops don't know what they are talking about.

Will a 205 width tire fit on a 6 inch wide rim?

I have a set of ls mesh's (15x6), and a set of tires (205/50/15) and I am wondering if they will go on the ls's. I was at Pepboys and I figured I would ask the auto tech's and they said it wouldn't work.

Any assistance is appreciated.

I will also say yes. I always ran that same tire size on my SI's and Swirlies, which are the same size rime as the meshes.
