Anyone get thier Personal Porperty Tax paper in the mail yet?
when you look at it, you have the Property Tax and a License Tax.
Is the $26 license tax new? I never noticed it before.

That's only in Virginia Beach. The DMV charges you $25 on top of the cost of your tag renewal. And then from there, the money is passed back to Virginia Beach.

Hey, you all whined that you wanted to have the city sticker done away with. You guys got your wish. Unfortunately, the city still needs to collect that fee somehow.

 

It's like that for Norfolk too.

 

Oh? I thought they were only doing that in Virginia Beach. I heard rumors that Chesapeake was thinking of doing it. Didn't know if they are or not yet.

As for Norfolk, it might be a little different then. They might be collecting their decal fee during personal property season. I know in VB that we collect the money when you renew your tags every year, since that's something that *has* to be done.

 

Chesapeake is starting it this year, I believe.
