Web Hosting / DNS service

Web Hosting / DNS service
Who or what service does everyone use / recomend for Web Hosting and Domain Name Service? It seems like there is a million and a half out there, but how many are legit? I don't want to run into a scam or cut-rate service, so any of you PC knowledgeable people please pass along any suggestions.
Thanks in advance.
p.s. was looking at http://www.inmotionhosting.com/ and all the features they offered. They even do the DNS registration for free if you sign up for a 12 or 24 month service.

i hate to say it but i ditched the dedicated server i had with aplus to move the sites to go daddy. its a bit quirky to use but overall works perfect. EXCELLENT customer service over there. live human is a phone call away.

I use 1and1 they're cheap and not bad. They're not so good if you're more technical and want more control over your shit though. but for the average user I'd say it's ok

Re: Web Hosting / DNS service
I guess GoDaddy is not too bad. I've done a couple of sites that are hosted there and the only problem that I've come across is that they will only let you write to /tmp from Tomcat. That means that you're stuck with default logging and you can't change your config files dynamically.
