You can already get Atoms in the US, Brammo takes care of that. I met a few of their guys in Cali about 2 years ago when they had just done the federalization of the Atom (with the Ecotec I believe?)..
*edit: I guess TMI is taking over full production/distribution, they used to be Brammo's Canadian distributor but Brammo is done producing Atoms apparently.

Old news. 
TMI people are already at VIR as of last week. In fact I know they did some minor warranty work on an Atom down there on Tuesday... this one, shortly after this pic was taken:
