I have determined that the problem i now have with my 00' civic si is in the rack & pinion. either the rack or gearbox. question is, i know i can get rebuild kits, and its super cheaper to do it that way than buy a whole new one, but i have never done it before and im wondering if its worth it and how hard it is. doesnt seem terribly difficult, i remove left tie rod, remove stiffening bar, push rack to the right, remove bolts holding it in, and pull it out. basically repeating that backwards for install. any information would be greatly appreciated, thanks.

 

I have a whole new one I was going to use for a power steering conversion on my 96 hatch. I ended up selling the car and I have it in my garage still. Still packaged in box. Let me know if you want it. Will sell it for a good price.
