Default Who works on Computers here? I have a job for you!

I have a total of 3 computers that need work........but first if someone can help me with this problem then you got the job!

For some strange reason i agreed to help a family with their computer issues. Basicly the oldest kid downloaded all kinds of porn and other stuff. Now the computer won't even turn on "it starts up and cuts back off"........So i asked if they had a system restore disk but apparently the computer was a 2nd hand system without a recovery disk. I decided to just take the computer home because from SE DC to Gaithersburg is a hike and it was almost 1am.

So here are my questions where can i find a generic system disk even if i don't know the brand of computer?

My personal computer issues are

Computer 1. Needs a video card "maybe since the monitor doesn't respond when its powered up".

Computer 2. Needs a new "switch" or button to turn it on. My son ripped the whole thing off.

Computer 3. I need a CDR drive installed on my dell.

I'm not a computer guru as I am merely a salesman, but have you tried googling for a bootdisk?

Secondly are you able to get into bios after you boot up?

Comp 1- Video cards are easy to replace.

Comp 2- How did your son manage to rip that off? is it the whole front facia or just the switch?

Comp 3- Much like Comp 1, they are easy to replace.

CDR drive should be plug and play. Buy a new one and put it in.. connect cable, connect power and done.

Im a computer tech. If you really need any help just call me, 571-379-6949. Names Garrett. I was a computer tech for the past 3 years @ Netcom INC in culpeper, VA. I just moved to Manassas.

Comp 1- Video cards are easy to replace -> Very true, it depends on how old his computer is, its either AGP or PCI/PCI Express.. The older the computer, the more $ for a video card, dunno why, its just like that =\ If its a super old computer, dont even bother trying to spend the $100 on a video card, it wont even render the latest games.

Comp 2- How did your son manage to rip that off? is it the whole front facia or just the switch -> Doesnt matter, that CANT be replaced, you need a new case.

Comp 3- Much like Comp 1, they are easy to replace -> Very easy indeed, if you got a new case I could transfer your old board and everything into it!
