Default GSR ECU with SOHC VTEC??

Ok, me and Thermal were just experimenting, and wondered what would happen if we put his extra GSR ECU in my car. I have a D16y8. Both are OBD2, so it plugged right in. When I drove it, it was quicker. But can anyone think of any problems this could cause??

You can float valves due to the higher red line and have piston to valve contact and bend or break the valves.

Yea, I was thinkin somethin like that. Which is why I never went past the old redline.

Would anything else happen even if I stayed with the old redline?

The ECU's switched back now, but we werre just messing around and shit just to see what would happen. And now just tryin to find out info on this kind of thing.

I doubt it, but the P72 ecu takes into account the use of the secondary butterfly intake system though. I don't think anything horrible will happen though. It may run a little on the rich side as well.

if honda wanted you to use the different ecu, they would have given it to you. stop thinking the car was faster becuase the ecu controls a higher hp engine.

id bet that you actually lost hp due to different timing and fuel control curves. put the stock ecu in.
