tire question!
car: 07 Si sedan
location: richmond, va
current tire: 215 / 45 ZR17 91W Michelin Pilot's
in the market for new tires that will be more suitable for the lame roads up here. the current tires have been on my vehicle since it was sold off the show room (24k mi ago) and they took a beating up here.
any suggestions?? do you think if i went to "50" i might get a less stiffer ride quality? my suspension is far from conducive for these roads

Re: tire question!
Choose a tire with a softer sidewall if you want better ride quality. If you change to a 50 aspect tire you're going to change more that the ride quality; you'll have an inaccurate speedo, etc. Pilots are fairly stiff sidewall tires, and you should easily find something a little softer. You'll also lose some initial turn-in response and some other stuff though, so you have to decide if the better ride is worth the other side effects.

Re: tire question!
Kumho LX is supposed to be a sport luxury tire soft compound and all season .Another tire i would and can recommend is the Cooper CS4 .The problem you have is the W speed rating . What i mean by that the higher the speed rating the stiffer the side wall . Question is do you need a W rated tire .I'm guessing since you said it was on the car when you got it that you don't really have a option . Most reputable Tire shops wont sell you anything besides what the car comes with because of liability . Now if you buy off line some shops wont even install it with out letting you know its wrong .
The 2 tires i posted above should give you both good tread wear as well as handling . My .02cents
