Differences in s13 ka24de and s14 ka24de?
I have an s12 and am doing a ka swap. I have a s14 motor a s13 5speed trans and s13 ecu and harness. Can I do the swap with this stuff? What are the main differences in the s13 and s14 ka24de motor? Any info would be awsome

I mean any info on the swap would be awesome like what to watch out for. I don't think that u needed to be an ass about it. I was just trying to get a little info before I started. Come on help a brotha out.... Lol

It would be easier to get a whole swap. Main difference between the s14 ka's is the dizzy. S13 came with a coil ignitor to provided spark. Some s14 did come with coil ignitors, but not many. Easiest way would be to find a full swap lile spindrift said. The wiring will also be different. You have lots to learn grasshopper.

i have a sohc ka with a s14 trans in my s12
not sure about a s13 ecu and harness on a s14 because of the ig coil and distributor... were talking like 30 bux at the yard to get the right ecu and harness but if it plugs up go for it

basic rundown of a ka swap. because im awesome and i documented it
custom work needed to be down
1. trans mount
2. trans shifter sits 2 inches back, gotta cut a hole for it on the car
3. some wiring, like 7 wires
for DOHC ka's s12 power steering lines bolt in. for sohc, you gotta bend sohc ones and relocate your resivor to the other side
heres some easy steps
pull ca20e and throw away
remove engine harness (pink) leave the chassis harness (green)
clean
go buy a ka from someones shed for 40 bux
get S13 motor mounts
cut hole for trans
trans mount, do what you want. heres what i did i was low on tools at the time so it was ghetto
CA20E MOUNT
well i ripped the ca20e mount off the transmission, then tore everything off it down to the base,
s13 MOUNT - some aftermarket one
i did the same with the ka24 mount
obviously the poly mount wont fit correctly,
so what i do is i grind the shit out of my mount all the way down FLAT for the poly mount
SO,
then
i use washers, or metal plates, to shimmey it to whatever height i prefer, too keep it level
first, i need a drill to drill holes for the poly mount 2 fit though
DRIVESHAFT
rear half S12, front half s13..... jdm tyte
s13's ECU sits on the opposite side of s12..
so when you get your wires your gonna have to go from the drivers side MAF sensor area and bridge the wires about 5 feet to the passenger side, which i used my glovebox at the time

also gotta rewire your ALT and oil pressure plug... just clip them off of a s13 chassis harness at the yard and wire in

well getting a complete swap is preferred
if you already have a motor, then go to the yard and get the right harness and ecu
i recommend you use a automatic ecu though, if its manual

well hey man thanks for the good luck. and as for research i have done alot just had a few un answered questions. and since i was posting from my iphone i kinda had to be quick and kinda vague. but i understand about people just looking for quick answers....so i see where u are coming from. just next time u dont always have to say/ type everything that is on ur mind.....but thanks for the help bro i can use all i can get
