Smile another EF out of commision...help please

My boyfriend bought me an 91 EF for christmas. The previous owner blew the original motor, so the new motor is a d15b1, dual point injection. Once that was in, the throttle stuck every now an again but it worked its way out over time. I had a little trouble with the rpm's dropping while in neutral slowing down or idling at a stoplight and the car would cut off. I was told that it wasn't uncommon for EF's to do that. On Sunday I was following my boyfriend on 64 and my car started to slow down. I down shifted to try and speed up, and it just continued to slow down. I pulled over and turned the car off and haven't been able to start it back up. Friends of mine who also own ef's and have more experience and knowledge about hondas told me that I might have a problem with my distributor..... interested in any other ideas to what the problem might be.

Check for spark, and see if it's getting gas to the motor, also check the main relay

A friend of mine is getting a distributor for me to see if that's the problem. I'm hoping that's it, if not I will check the main relay and get back to you. Thanks for the info.

The idle problem is most likely completely unrelated to the other problem. Don't try to hard to find a correlation between them.

Thanks (:

So, I opened up the distributor and every little piece was shiney and brand new. I don't see that being the problem anymore. You can hear the car priming so the main relay is good. Saturday I am planning on checking the fuel pump and filter.
Keep throwing me idea of what the problem maybe.

): I miss my EF
