Just added a MB to the garage...
I just picked up a Steel Gray 2010 MB GL450. My wife will drive it most of the time. It's a 2010 certified from a MB dealer in Ohio. The price was worth the drive. It was weird being in Cincinnati at this time of year with all of the election stuff. There were Romney signs, billboards, stickers, etc. everywhere. So far, I fucking love this SUV. It was between the X5 (too small) and an '11 QX56, which was tough to say no to. I do not plan on doing any performance mods as it is plenty fast for an SUV. I will do some upgrading to the sound system (the "premium" Logic 7 isn't all that great for the lows) and definitely unlock the nav. Sorry for the shitty Android pics (click to expand):

Even though the GL is a decent MB, i just hope you don't run into any unexpected problems with it. I have done so much glass work on these ( work for danny's glass) it's nuts. Other then the occasional rain sensor not working, to master switches and tons of regulators. I'm pretty much the expert at MB glass but this particular model isn't my favorite. Like I said, it's a very nice ride, just one I wouldn't have chosen, imo.

Don't you drive a Ford Contour?
Thanks homey. Yeah, the guy at the dealership said a replacement windshield is like 1500-2000. Crazy! Well, I shouldn't have to worry for issues for the next couple years. It is certified. I may extend the warranty. We shall see how reliable it is. I do know it was only dealer serviced and never had any issues.
edit: yes, I am aware windshields are not covered under warranty.

It is indeed ugly. Well, the front is, as are the fake side vents. Have you sat in or driven the new ones? They are amazing. Yeah, the X5 is pretty sick.

If I were in the SUV market for that kind of money I’d buy a Land Rover Discovery.
