Exclamation Lightning hit my house

Can't find the point of entry from the exterior, but it struck the master bedroom walk-in closet. Tore that shit up!

Metal wire shelves looked like they exploded from the walls and flew across to hit the opposite wall, softball size hole blew out of the drywall with a nice burn mark. Metal nails popped out like shrapnel, one went through a wall.

About an hour earlier, there was a fully loaded handgun on the shelf. Good thing it was removed!

I was able to salvage the wiring for that room, thankfully. Drywall, painting, and shelving needs to be redone this Sunday. Wow.

It's weird but drywall blowing out is quite common for lightning strikes. Good to hear you're ok.

A Henrico officer was leaving the house at the time and it nearly knocked him over. No one was inside at the exact moment. Smelled like a very bad perm inside. Wierd.

Been on a mountaintop when lightning hit a tent nearby. Entire place was electrified before lightning hit, static electricity like a mofo. Remember a propane lantern filament lighting without fuel before lightning struck -- that kinda freaked us all out a bit.
