i put a b16 in my 94 teg i blew my b20 vtec with the b16 head and the problem is that when i lightley hit the gas peddle the car tends to rev irradicaly jumping from about 1.5k to 2k and then when it hits about 2.5 or 3 it starts to run right with no probs, the engine is throughing codes it calls out vtec sensor, ait (air intake temp) sensor and the iat (idal air temp) sensor and i was wondering if these might have anything else to do with it?

 

any advice?

 

The one time i was throwing AIT and IAT, was when i had two connectors backwards. It also caused my motor to rev wierd but only at low rpms (like you). And just like you're saying, right at about 2.5 and 3k it mellowed out and drove normal. This was right after i completed my swap. Figured out what was backwards, swapped em, and the problem was gone.

 

Those two sensors can definately make your car run very badly, double check all your wiring, yes..

only reason there is a b16 in the teg is becaue it was cheap, a decent motor with low miles, and i need the car to get back and forth
