Re: BIG PROBLEM!!
The trans copmuters in the autos are pretty common probs. Try swapping that out before you go pulling it out. A tad more vehicle info and you could get more help.

Re: BIG PROBLEM!!
What tranny you got? If its an auto you have an AW4. If its a stick, you have an AX-15.
AW4's are incredibly tough transmissions, if your having problems with that its most likey the wiring (since AW4's are electronically controlled), a bent cooling line, or you need a fluid change. Its pretty damn hard to "break" an AW4 though, I highly doubt its the AW4 itself.
As for the AX-15, synchros in those wear out pretty fast. They aren' the strongest transmission out their either. If thats the problem I'd just swap in an AW4. Thats not gonna break on you anytime soon.
*also, what symptoms are you having? If you could provide more detail that would be great.

Re: BIG PROBLEM!!
Mine went out, it is a AW4. I picked up one with the transfer case for $100 in the trading post. There were some more in there. If you need someone to swap it I have a guy who does it on the side.

Re: BIG PROBLEM!!
well the problem i'm having is the the tranny will either not shift higher than 1 gear or that it won't drop out of 4th when i slow to a stop. It also started slipping out of second and third gear down to first. NOT GOOD!!

It may be Aamco, I think, that does the free tranny checks locally. Just tell them you heard it on the radio.

Re: BIG PROBLEM!!
Sound like its a cooling problem. check your cooling lines, the line might be bent. The cooler itself may be messed up. Change the tranny fluid also.
