I had Redline send my motor out for powder coating and ended up demanding that it be shipped back after waiting a month or so to get it done. Redline had a lot of other problems getting stuff done so I no longer trust them.

Call Vanwin Coatings and talk to Tony Logan. I took my engine parts to him for coating and cost me $600. A lot of prep work had to be done and the finish turned out great! Turn around time was 1 week which included the weekend! If the job isn't done right, they'll redo it for you at no charge. Their website is www.vanwincoatings.com Tony's phone number is 925-4450. Really cool guy and is willing to take his time and explain everything to you.

Oh! there are two Vanwin Coating's locations. One is in Suffolk(difficult to find), the other one is actually right down the street from me in Chesapeake. The one in Suffolk is where Tony is located and all the small jobs are done. The other location is were they powder coat large orders for like Newport News Shipyard and other similar corporations. All in all, I give them a 10 for quality and customer service.

i used to do some powder coating. first set of bike wheels i coated i forgot to take the bearings out and the grease in the bearings boiled out ruining the bearings and the powdercoat finish. that sucked. but nothing looks better than a translusent powdercoat over chrome you can make blue chrome etc.
btw you guys are getting ripped off bad. it should never cost over like 100 per rim. it isnt very hard to do. for a grand you could buy all the stuff you need to powdercoat anything(wheel size or smaller, big ovens = $$$$)

Go to VanWin Coatings like someone above said. I think Tony left, but the new manager's name is Jamie I think. Pretty cool guy. They do nice work.
