Default b16 head and GSR head

is there any true difference between the two heads? I have heared that the B16 head flows better, but then again i have heard that there is really no eifference at all...

apparantly the b16 head does flow better, the MAJOR difference to me is that you can use a Type r intake manifold on the b16, you cant use it on the gsr, the Type r intake manifold is the best flowing honda manifold of all so the fact that you can use it on a b16 head is a big advantage, if you want a better flowing manifold for the gsr, you have to go aftermarket.....

i heard that the combustion chambers are shaped differently as far as size and the quench area, so the compression will differ as well as the flow to the valves.

really depends on what cams and intake manifold your using.

gsr yields slightly higher compression stock, b16 head flows a little better. i'd say the b16 head is the better head overall although if you start getting into headwork and aftermarket parts it really doesnt matter which you use.

, but if you do alterations to the head (grind/port/etc) then it really doesn't matter unless you plan on making a drag/race motor. then i would go with the gsr head, just my opinion.
