hello i just moved to alexandria 3 days ago and i have some questions about the law. how do they enforce the no radar detector rule? do they have a detector detector? also how do they use an aircraft to get speeders? man it was really confusing driving up 95...people would speed the hell up like up to 90mph then slow the hell down ...then back up again. it seemed like they were speeding up where there are trees everywhere but i can't be 100% sure. i need some tips on not getting a ticket basically...and any help would be appriciated.

The radar detector rule is enforced with a system called VG2. There are expensive detectors that can mask themselves to a degree...I've seen many friends use them all day every day. If you get pulled with one visible though, expect a nasty fine.

I don't think anyone has ever been clocked by aircraft, though I'm interested to here if someone has.

On I-95, the Smokies usually like to hide in the breaks between the trees, so it is good practice to slow down when you know one is coming...and they typically use the same places.

They don't "clock" them, persay. They have lines marked on the road, time you between the lines, calculate your speed, and radio ahead to 'ground reinforcement'. I only know of one person that has ever been ticketed this way though..

moved up from atlanta...i was going 80 thru one part of 95 and zoomed by a cop sitting behind some trees but he didn't budge. i guess i was lucky. thanks for all ur help guys!!
