you can "get on it" with a new clutch, just dont go slamming it hard into gear and letting the clutch engage fast for the first 500 miles or so...that can cause the new clutch to glaze the flywheel and make the clutch slip.

Yes... after doin my homework it is in fact recommended to be easy on the cluthc for approx 300-500 miles. The longer the better. Gotta let it settle in and establish an even wear surface, otherwise it will severely shorten the lifetime of the clutch.
FYI -- picked up a Centerforce Dual Friction Clutch, replacement Throwout Bearing, and Fidanza Lightweight Flywheel delivered overnight for 900 even. I'm not all that happy with the price, however it's the only place I could find with the friggin Centerforce in stock!
