most CF hoods have a clear coat on them that shines when washed. so the only real reason you would need wax is to keep the rain off them to prevent rain spots. i don't know if all brands of wax would work but you might try calling some of the more well-known brands and asking. they'll know

 

i was just playing around with you guys

MOST carbon fiber hoods have a clear coat so check on the brand of your particular hood before you start putting wax on it. as long as you stick with the top of the line waxeds (such as Meguiars...) you will be OK. Do NOT worry about messing it up.
