VTEC is over-rated
ok, ya nevermind. for some reason i wasnt associating that with timing. nevermind. =] its my eye.
hehe
yes, i was thinking ppl were talking about ignition timing and such... valve timing.. whatever. when i hear "timing" i instantly associate that with the ignition. when i hear vtec, i instantly associate it with cams.

great...another rediculous thread about VTEC........Listen, I'm really sick of people that don't have a Honda telling me what VTEC is and isn't. Do you people really think youknow more about motor building than Honda does? Come on now. A stock B16 in a hatch will beat a stock LS in a hatch. Period. End of discussion. There are exceptions to every rule but unless something is wrong with the B16 it will beat a stock LS. Honda managed to get 160 hp out of a 1.6 liter motor that still gets 30+ mpg. Thats 100 hp per liter....Does that register to you guys? and this motor has been around since the late 80's. Do you seriously think VTEC is just for fuel economy? If so you need to look up some fuel flow charts too. Most VTEC motors flow over twice the fuel just after VTEC as they do just before. I tell you what, you come and race me and Crate. deal? Think you'll win? Then we can go for a ride in my S2000. It's got a smaller engine than a Neon. If you still think VTEC is overrated and just for fuel economy then you need to get your head examined. BTW, My S2000 gets about 25 mpg tops.....Thats less than a new vette. Sure sounds like good fuel economy to me.
