let alone a low 13. i dont think fuckstick comprehends the fact that an 03 cobra from the factory with an average driver usually goes low 13s. i forgot volkswagen has been selling 03+ cobra slayers for the past couple years under the alias of a cute little hatchbacks called "GTI".

im not saying they cant be quick (1.8t304e is a prime example of what can happen in the right hands and with enough time, effort and money) but im calling your bullshit. you need to spend less time hacking the gibson and a little more time installing a filter between that baren skull of yours and your fingers so you dont post ridiculous shit like your stock GTI being a low 13 second car.

you're both pretty ignorant apparently. I don't care how much knowledge you have of LT1's. You obviously have no knowledge about the 1.8T powerplant other than what you came across on Google the first result after searching for "GTI." There's actually a 1.8T GTI that ran a 12.6 with basically slicks, a hell of a lot of weight reduction, and an open stock downpipe.

If you think a 1.8T GTI with a LSD, 3.94 gearing, beefier clutch/flywheel/pressure plate, better tires, 4-bar software (21psi spikes on the k03s) is capable of nothing less than a 15, you need to wake the fuck up. Seriously. You obviously have no idea what the potential of a 1.8T is. I'm benchmark racing. You're right. I've ran a 13.8 before the LSD and new gears. The two will substantially increase my 60 foot, and obviously you can't fathom dropping from a 13.8 to like a 13.4-13.5 with what I would consider a pretty substantial modification. I said low to mid 13's. To me, a 13.4 is a lot fucking 13. 13.5 is a mid 13. Never said anything about a 13.01, although I do know someone who can drive his ass off with a very similar setup to mine plus a 3" turboback who ran IIRC a 13.1.

Steve's car (1.8T304E) could be running a low 11 with what he has invested into it. Should really probably be faster than that. That car has never seen its full potential because he has what I would quite possibly consider the most unfortunate luck of anyone I've ever known when it comes to his car.

Seriously though.. You can flame as much as you want but I think if you did some reading you would be surprised at how well an AWP 1.8T responds to modifications. Considering the fact that we've got people running 10's with the 1.8T motor (in a mk2 platform now), I think that's pretty impressive. These motors are still relatively new and there has been nowhere near as much research and development on them as there have been your average Honda motor or for that matter, your precious LT1. 13's aren't as easy to come by in a VW as you're trying to convince yourself that they are.

ok, and an LS1 has seen 10s in nothing but a stripped v6 body with slicks. what does that change? theyre still low 13 second cars. like i said, im not doubting the 1.8t platform's responsiveness to mods. what i am saying is that youre a big fuckstick for a) dogging dude with the neon about not having a great drag racing platform... because your shit aint exactly a beast either b) LYING about your mods. what the fuck is that? c) bench racing. youve ran a 13.8. and im sorry, a 13.4 is a mid 13 homie. a 13.2 is a low 13. do i think your gears are going to knock off a half second off your ET? i dont know, dont care, never will. but i know youve gone 13.8s and around here your ET is your ET.

so quit trying to flip my words. ive owned imports, raced several, beat several, lost to a few. ive seen a couple quick 1.8ts and recognize them as a decently quick platform with the right mods, but the fact is, your head swole up during this 'comparison' to a 100whp neon and you popped off at the mouth about having 1 mod and running low 13s. then i called your bluff, you revealed you were lying about your mods and really expecting maybe a 13.4... aka not a low 13. so who's ignorant here?

yeah and i'm gonna have to call a big fat on this one-

you'll have to show proof of this. or are there 7 or 8 other mods that you conveniently left out? or by weight reduction you mean it was a radio controlled hybrid snowmobile with a gti engine? not buying it.

By "weight reduction" he meant weight reduction on a 1980 vw GTI knocking it down to a whopping 1200lbs.
