Default where to recycle used oil in woodbridge?

Anyone know where I can take my used oil to get recycled in Woodbridge? close to Potomac mills mall.

And for that matter, anywhere near Chantilly/Herndon/Sterling/Reston?

People tell me they just throw it away, or take it to gas stations / auto stores (although from my past experiences, they just throw it in the garbage).

If there is somewhere nearby that I can take it, I would rather do so than throw it in with regular trash.

I dont know about those area's, but there is a place close to me that take's it (at least they did, havnt been in a while). It is the Hess station off of telegraph road, just of the beltway.

usually any gas station with a shop garage should take the oil. I take mine to a local gas station and dump it in a recycling container next to the garage.

Advance is where I went to back in the 757 and they were like "oh, we just throw it in the trash". I'll try the one up here. Thanks.

i thought it was illegal to throw it away??
they made me give them my name, address, number and how much i was recycling... i dont think theyd go through all the trouble just to toss it, but I dunno.

I think the law states that any place that does oil changes is required to take used oil for recycling... I'm pretty sure that any oil change place, etc. will take it...

as was mentioned, any garage that does shop work should have containers outside that you can just take it to and dump it in. goes for oil, antifreeze, etc...
