yea i went on the website it seams that the main danger is other traffic and big trucks. and there is a sherrif in a stealthy black crown vic that rides on the road.

 

trucks cannot drive there. it is too twisty; it has signs for no trucks on each end

 

on that website that you put a link to it says that trucks sometimes drive on it eventhough they are not supposed to. i guess it is probaly a rare occurance though.

 

and if you know many people that go to deals gap.. there are so many better roads than tail of the dragon in the area... thats just the one everyone knows

 

I personally wouldn't travel that far for a road. Mountain roads are everywhere. You can take few runs down the lower half of Spring Run where it meets Beach at 4am on a Wednesday and I can almost guarantee no other cars will be on the road. And its twisty as fuck. It gets a bit highspeed on certain parts though. And you'll definitely flog into a ditch at night if you don't know the road like the back of your hand. Chris claims some roads up in Lynchburg are beast as hell and empty at night also. But if you're just looking for an excuse for a road trip, I can understand that.

We lost 2 ludes due to a Miata trying to drift, but all good times....I will be going back because my camera died just as I was crossing the bridge to start the dragon.....no film for me, but www.killboy.com has some awesome footage/stills of everyone rac...err driving
