durhrhr... i hate when people throw out stupid arguments like this. i drive a 16 year old car to work every day, i know what it's like. i also drive my wife's '05 almost every weekend. it's a lot different. someone who's in the market for an '06 Si isn't going to be comparing it to 15 year old swapped hondas, 15 year old swapped 240s, or 15 year old built fox bodies. they're going to be comparing it to SRT-4s, cobalt SSs, WRXes, etc. and in that regard, it's probably the slowest of the bunch, but it's on the same scale (they're all between 200 and 230 hp, right?) if there were an '06 nissan 240sx that cost 19k and ran 12s, well, then it would be everyone's right to go around calling the new Si slow. but it's reasonably competitive in its class (when everyone's stock), and it should be a pretty nice car as far as sport compacts go... fun to drive, reasonably reliable, comfortable, good resale value (not that i've driven it, but if it's anything like every other civic made since the 70s, these should hold true). personally, i really like them, but i would never consider it a replacement for my crx... just a nice alternative to the creaky, leaky, bumpy shitbox that i also love.

and 10 years from now, when WRXs are like DSMs, and 8th gen civics are like 5th gen civics, we'll have all kinds of stupid fights about the same things. personally, i predict more V6 swaps in civics.

 

You're the one that brought up the 240. It wasn't me or Tim. You brought up a 240 in a thread about the new civic. Don't try to place the blame of comparing the two on me.

We're not haters, we're realistic. We know that the civic is designed to be a grocery getter. Always has been, always will be. We also know that it's 197hp motor isn't going to make it fast. I don't see how that makes us haters.

I don't think you've ever seen any thread touting the performance of a stock 240. I still don't understand why you're comparing the two, unless you're just trying to distract us from the fact that the 06 Si is a slow piece of shit.

Although, it is my understanding that a stock S15 would blow the doors off a stock CTR.
