There really won't be a draft.

Drafts get too many people who are not willing to fight to their highest potential. That's why we don't have mandatory military service as is.

no draft whatsoever. the democrats put the measure on the table to try and raise peoples awareness. if it lasts more than a few months, the rest of the marine 2nd div and the entire 3rd div would be activated. i dont know how many army divs are left, but i am sure its a ton. and lets not forget about all the reservists. im still here. people need to stop worrying about stupid shit, like domestic gas attacks and the draft. the draft doesnt mean you are going to fight for anything. who do you think is going to occupy the bases that have been cleared out? reservists and a lot of draftees (though there wont be a draft).

sohc_mshue- at least you admit it. i know more than a few people who wanted to be marines, made it through boot, and now are scared shitless of going somewhere.

Actually we had more units over there in 90-91 then we do now. There is only one Marine division over there, where in the gulf war there were two. Same with the Army, very little units there.

the 1st marine division out of pendleton is over there with task force tarawa from lejuene.
but what it comes down to is there are plenty of active duty and reservists left. there will be no draft, despite what some assclown social studies teacher says. and it wont last a while. saddam is not a military genius.
