Need Help with VW
My mom drives a 1998 Passat and her check engine light came on... and they dont want to spend the money to get it turned off...does anybody have any diagnostics or have experience with VW's. Any help would be appreciated.

if you sneeze to hard in vw, it will turn the cel on. i don't think i know a single person with an obdII vw that doesn't have a cel on. well i did finally get mine cleared. but seriously it could be a bout a billion things.

YOu can buy the cords and software so you can use vag-com on a lap top for about $200-$300. Then you just have to become framilar with it.
why are you going to be sending the turbo out for replacment? you know the If you have less then 100000 Miles it is covered under warrenty. And if its boost numbers have fallen off I'd be checking for boost leaks first before replacing the turbo.

It is out of warranty and I am going to rebuild the turbo.
But i still need to find someone that knows how to decode error codes on the ODB II.
