Default XS - first mockup

Still no top bearing, but found a spacer to hold everything firm for the mockup. Busa forks on a '80 Yami XS11.

Busa. The swingarm isn't mocked in yet, still need to do some measurements, but I have a black busa swingarm to go with it. Gonna try to get the busa monoshock in there too.

sweet man. when you get up to trying to do that monoshock, gimme a call. there's more to it than just making sure it fits. changing the angle of the linkages and whatnot plays a MAJOR role in how it'll work.

whatcha doing with that v-dub in the background?

Yeah...whole thing is backwards! LOL! It was 3 am and I was exhausted, but couldn't sleep. I was laying in bed wondering if the XS steering stem was close to the same length as the busa, so I walked out for a quick mockup. Nothing's bolted in, just threw it together for shits and giggles. The stems are damn close in length too.

I'll definitely give you a call when I get to the monoshock. I was a little worried about getting the geometry right back there.

The vdub is my brother's car and it's for sale if you're interested. I think he wants $650 for it. The car runs, but real rough and it won't idle. He's got a complete spare motor out of a '92 Cabrio that goes with the car though. It's got some minor rust by the spare tire well and behind the rear bumper, but otherwise the car is real solid. Interior is all there - and it's a GTi, so it's got the good seats and everything. It's faded, but complete. When he last had it on the road the struts were shot too. So it'll need some work, but it's got a lot of potential. Both motors are 1.8 8 valves. The one in the car has about 250k on it, the spare has 100k. He doesn't frequent the forums, but he has been fooling posting on the board I just installed at my site: http://octaneonline.com/phpBB/index.php His username is vahankin if you want to PM or email him off of that board. If you'd rather call him, PM me and I'll give you his cell.
