What are your hp goals? What are you planning on doing with the motor?
If you ever plan on boosting go with the z6. If you want to stay na get the d15b...

well you can get a z6 cheaper {probably}, parts are readily available. jap motor importers scare me, cause you never know what you are getting. especially mail order over the internet from someone who only accpets paypal {not a legit business, otherwise theyd accept CC's.} at least if you buy a z6 someone yanked out to do a swap you can see what ur gettin.
i dont see what being a daily driver has to do with a dohc swap. its not like swaps are unreliable, unless the person who did the work just sucks.

Honestly, the motors are so close to being alike - buy the one thats the best buy. (IE - in the best condition for the cheapest price). You can usually find d16z6's all over for cheap as hell, so that's what I would do personally. The JDM d15b is in no way special whatsoever to be honest...just a slightly smaller displacement z6 with a little bit better cam...

D16z6. I felt more power out of it in my old 88 CRX Si with a Z6 till i swapped in a Y8.
Then I owned a D15b hatch. D15b's are nothing but "jdm" really. I'd say stick with a D16z6 plus parts are easy as hell to find, well parts for both motors are. Personally, I favor the Z6.

I have jdm d15b vtec in my crx. I bought it off ebay for $375 and i picked it up so I did not have to worry about shipping charges. Makoto engines is where i purchased it. Look it up on ebay they still should be selling them for around the same price. The engine itself has been boosted since August with no problems at all.
