? what type of swap for a 1990 CRX??
One of his questions was what will bolt right up...
The ZC swap will. I do not know why people knock this motor. You can boost it, spray it, build it.
I had an N/A ZC intake, exhaust, lightweight flywheel, stage clutch, chipped ecu that would smoke b16's (N/A of course with similar bolt ons)and hang with LS turbo(in a couple Integras). If I ever get another EF I will definetly do this swap again. The motors rate at only 130hp but it's funny how I could beat more powerful motors in the same vehicle. The ZC is great to build to make around 250+hp(which in a crx is more than enough for a fun all around car including track racing)! JG engine Dynamics makes good aftermarket parts.
Me and my friend got motors through Millenium and I recommend them for any motor you need.
Hope this helps!

crvtt717, Yes thats true. It's all on HOW you build your motor. I had a D16y8 sohc vtec swap in one of my Si Crx's with Stage 2 clutch that would slip under hard shifts, light flywheel, intake, header and exhuast with a Si crx intake manifold WITHOUT Vtec working. I was keeping up with some Integra's, beating some sentra's and alot more. Car was definatley quick but you spend money to make a d-series fast. I think B-series are a good platform to start off with rather than D-series. Everyone has their own opinion.
I am just saying that a ZC DOHC is definetly an option in an EF. I personally want my next car to be a 92+ civic ex at least! Of course I wouldn't swap a ZC in that. I would most likely do a GS-R swap.

CRV is a honda. its a b20 motor. With the work, you could put it in a 1g crx. All depend's if you wanna spend the money. Kamikaze has done a swap in a 1g crx and it's nasty.
