Default what transmission to use

alright i have a h22 in a EG hatch and im doing a turbo set up and i was wondering since i have to replace the transmission cus mine is fucked up so i was wondering if i should use a tranny from a accord or get the h22 tranny? i heard the accord EX tranny is good with turbos because of the gear ratios but im just going off of what other people say so any help would be awesome thanks

this should be interesting. the debate on which tranny is better for turbo. I would go with an h22 tranny.

I would run the one with the lowest/longest gear ratios for 2 reasons:
1. h22 in an eg is already going to wheel hop/spin tires it is going to be worse with a turbo...lower gears=less spin
2. Longer gears allow the turbo to stay in its max boost longer. Higher gears you will spool up and shift instantly or not even hit your set boost

**Simply put higher gears will make a faster car on low boost but a slower car on high boost, but I think traction should be your number one priority
h22 in an eg is already pretty fast

Do u want to go Highway fast? or quarter mile fast?

Qtr mile fast = Short Gears

Highway Fast = Longer Gears

yes that IS true that a longer gear makes a higher top speed but shorter gears also has other effects on traction and boost....like I was taking about.

Would you like me to site some research on this??

he does have a point traction in that car is gonna be a problem. how many pounds do you want to boost?
