When asked if a 600+ hp model will be offered, he said, "never say never to anything." In an interview with Mr. Shelby himself, Edmunds managed to get further details. Shelby said GM "better not dream" of having more horsepower than the Mustang with the new Camaro. Recent rumors have suggested GM could drop the Corvette Z06 engine into the Camaro. Shelby said it would be "very easy" to push the 'Stang to over 600 horsepower and still offer the company's 50,000-mile warranty.

Easy. Smaller pulley and a different tune.

 

Soon this will all colapse... cars are getting too fast for the "normal" driver. Anything over 400 hp should start requiring driver training. Anything over 500 needs formal driving school.

I fear things will change.

I mean 505 (underrated) z06 w/ the blue devil comming at over 600.... now the stang etc.

In order to buy the new Z06 or a Ford GT, don't have you to attend a driver's school now anyways?

 

money talks. These guys wreck em and then buy another.. good for business... they also buy them for their 16 year old kids who will wreck them, and buy another.

If you think the modern retail world gives a fuck about anything other than making a stock go up, you're mistaken

 

But the difference is a LS7 Camaro would probably go for less than a Shelby w/600hp. Think about the markups on the current Shelby's.

I personally doubt either one will be made.
