i'm pretty much done w/ the swap now. first impression.....holy shit it pulls! it is so much unbelievably faster than that other crap i had in there. i was expecting a little, but it is significantly more, especially 3rd gear. unfortuneately the clutch is really worn, so i'm putting a new one in friday....and still need a shift boot as well. i'm hoping it will help out in autox as much as it does in a straight line. all i need now is my tax return so i can get some race tires and i'll be set. anyways, i figured i'd update you all. i'll be out there at Pungo next sunday.

When you say clutch I assume you swapped to a manual tranny as well? Yea I bet that is a major kick in the ass difference from that slushbox you had before. Good luck with it!

The gap between us was big enough as it was. I don't think my Zetec can catchup to your VTEC now. All I can hope for now is a nice tail wind during all my runs.

When I had my Honda (long, long time ago, in a galaxy far, far away), I down shifted it CONSTANTLY to keep it on the boil and it wasn't even a VTEC mill (D16)! Every turn-around was a pop into first.

What is it? An H22 with mods? Can you smell inside wheel tire smoke? Can I drive it???

no, it's a stock f22b1 (sohc vtec) accord motor. All accords my gen are in the same line on the Street Prepared Index, so backdating is allowed. so basically, i'm gonna be a lil faster, and still in STS.

there's this spot i have where i do the 1/4 and see what my speed is at the end of it. i used to finish at about 81-82mph. now i finished at 87mph with the clutch slipping in first, second, and third. and i mean severly slipping. i have to let off the gas and wait for the damn thing to catch. thank god a new one is going in there on friday. once the clutch is in and i have a free friday, i'm gonna go to a test and tune at dimwiddie to see what i can run. i'd be happy w/ 15s.

Is it an open test and tune @ VMP Drag? I've got a VERICOM and a G-Tech that both say that my miata (stock) will do a 15.2-15-.4 in the 1/4 and I don't believe either one. I'd like to get a real slip one day...
