You guys rock.
BTW, WTF is that water spout thingy I saw while driving out of Lynchburg the other day? Im not familiar with the area but I was crossing a bridge and caught sight of a huge stream of water prolly 100' high being sprayed out into the middle of the river I was crossing. It wasnt the fire dept (least I didnt see any fire trucks) and other than some RR tracks I didnt see any kind of industry or anything. Lynchburg have its own gyser(sp?)?

Supras are now pulling the front tires off the ground.
Torque does mean a lot, its gets the car moving. But saying you have torque down low doesn't mean anything as long as the other car knows how to use his torque even if its at 5000 RPM. From a roll brake boosting it key, and from a stop 2-step/Anti-lag is the shit.

And who cares about yankin the tires. Most irs Cobras running 9's don't pull the tires. If you're on slicks and your rear can take it, fuck a two-step, set it on the box and let it rip or just rev it to where you want to leave. And a two-step doesn't build boost, a trans-brake does. I keep hearing anti-lag as if its some magic technique or some kind of gismo. If you are referring to race car guys saying that it usually has to do with better turbo design and better flowing engines is the reason big race cars hit full boost very quickly.

Yea I know what you are going to say next, 2-3 psi is nothin, it helps, but the best part is I'm at full boost practically immediately after I take off.. atleast this is in my situation/setup..
Anti-lag is a gismo I guess you could say... it requires air-lines/valves etc.. its most popular in rally cars in off throttle situations (the bang/pop noise you hear, this is anti-lag working).. it is also usefull in launching.

I don't see how setting it on the box will take you were you want? A 2-step is set at a certain RPM to have your boost built and ready to go at a certain place where you want.

You can do the same thing with tuning if you want since all the 2 step does is cut spark to various cylinders and the unburned fuel is what spools the turbo when theres no load. Fatten up the tune or pull the timing way back for the launch and tah dahhh...boost comes up before you launch. If your engine management allows it just wire in a momentary button to actuate another set of fuel maps to richen it or timing maps to retard the timing.
I took the 2 step off my truck since I dont like the sound a V6 makes while its up against the box and once I got things sorted out I can build more boost than the brakes can hold (automatic trans) anyways. Besides a V6 exhaust note sounds bad enough as it is without something like a two step making it worse
.silvcobra,
Your car still has a blower on it and you havent converted to a turbo correct? If so comparing a blower to a turbo is apples and oranges. A blower will make boost with no load very easily while a turbo motor will make very little if any unless you start loading the motor down with the weight of the vehicle (ie give the motor something to strain against) or get unburned fuel into the turbine side so it can light off. Turbos require heat as well as the flow of exhaust gasses to spin it where as a blower is ran off the crank (usually) which means the harder you twist the motor the faster the blower spins producing more air flow (ie boost).
Not being an ass here just pointing out that its not a matter of "just rev it to where you want to leave" on a turbo vehicle.
The alf picture is just freakin nasty.

The FD auto's leave the line like dogs.
cool video of anti-lag, I can't find one of a car launching with it though..
