And I understand the temporary negaitve effects on the economy, but those are coming whether Ford goes down or they get help. We need to prepare for it now so it won't have as bad an impact when they die out.

I went to Bondurant and they showed us how to manage a car with a tire blow out and then took us out in Ford (OMG!!!!) Econline vans and drifted them at 90+ around the track.
Suprisingly I'm still here.
If you don't know how to control a car decently, then if a tire blows out, you're going to have problems

So no one has ever been killed in a Honda?
With the Explorers, it was obvious that the tire failures were causing the problem, but did Firestone get blamed for it? Nope. Once they started putting Goodyear tires on the car, the roll over rates dropped significantly... considering it still is a vehicle with a high center of gravity, of course the roll over rates are going to be higher than that of a sedan, coupe etc.
You only seem to call out Ford, yet the practices are the same across the board.
Bottom line = capitalism
Oh, and Ford isn't going anywhere. The same shit happened to Chrysler ~25 years ago and they’re fine.

Well, they DID blame Firestone, and that turned out to be bullshit, but at least Brifgestone restructured as a result of Ford's finger-pointing and came back stronger than ever.
Okay. Look it up then. Let's see some proof that any other manufacturer knowingly released a deadly product in the name of making a few extra nickels.

You don't think that Suzuki knew that the Samurai could roll over with a high COG and short wheelbase?
Please.
Furthermore, if people knew how to drive they wouldn't roll their SUV if a tire blew out.

Funny. Because I was in a Jeep that did the same thing.
Explain.
