Clutch problems
My car is in da shop, and I think this guy is trying to get over on me (like I don't know anything about cars) When I drove my car and I put it in netural and slow down or I just put it in netural and coast, my car makes an knocking noise. The guy tells me that it is my cv joints/ axles. But I though they only made noises when you where turnnig. Anyway, I am not a master mind of cars and I just know enough to get by. But what he told me didn't sound right, so can anyone clear this up a lil.
Thanks

Re: Clutch problems
I never had a CV joint make a knocking sound going in a straight line. I have had them make my wheel shimmy, like I lost a wheel weight, but no real noise.

Re: Clutch problems
Just look at the axles dude, if the rubber boots are broken/torn or there is play in the axle when you grab and shake it then it's going bad. It's not really that hard to look at once and tell if its in bad shape or not.
