It's VTEC and i thought the p28 was only for cars with vtec?

you can run the vtec ecu with a non vtec motor but you will be in limp mode and sometimes won't be able to go over 3k. If your running a ls ecu with a d16z6 then it will run like it doesn't have vtec and run very rich but you can do it.

I would recommend waiting to do anything till you have everything.

When you get your LS swap, get a PR4/P74/P75 or a chipped P06. You can get any of those for $50 or less. Do everything together, and keep the correct ECUs with the correct engine. Alternately, when you get you LS swap you could get the P28 chipped and use a P06 program with P74/P75/PR4 maps and get vtec disabled in the program also. P06s and P28s are the exact same ECU, the P06 is just missing a few parts for vtec. I'd suggest just getting an LS ECU and selling the P28, you'll come out ahead money wise.
