carbon fiber hood.
some of you may have already seen my car and said, "damn that's some sh
y paint." so, i went to Bay Custom Auto on Denbigh today to see what they could do for my carbon fiber hood. they said they could sand it smooth and put a clear coat on it for $250. IMO that seems kinda high. i'd almost just rather buy a new one with vents. does anyone know of a possible better alternative.
BTW i'm just waiting to paint the rest. my uncle said he would do it for me, i just need to get it prepped first and get the bodykit. just in case anyone was wondering, here is a link to the type of bodykit i want. its not very aggressive and still keeps the clean lines. the front almost looks like it could be OEM.

theres this 3M stuff for fiberglass boats that works wonders. search on Honda Tech for it. if that dosent work, then you might have to pay for them to redo it, but i think the 3m stuff will work
i checked out the 3M stuff and its just for buffing out the gelcoat, which will work but the oxidation will just come back quicker than if i had it painted with a clearcoat. i just think $250 is a little high for just the hood.
wet sand with 1500 grit , then 2000 then rattle can clear coat it, then re-wetsand it smooth till its a good surface. wax and polish it smooth.
