Oceana Air Show(next weekend)...
damn those dumb asses are standing on the wing too. i hope there all in jail gettin it in the ass right now.
As for the f-22 being a waste of money... if it was they wouldnt do it. if the f18 could take us into the next 20 or 30 years it would be all good. but you can honestly only upgrade these planes so many times before it becomes pointless to upgrade. f14's were awesome in there day, and could still hand it to 90% of the airforces out there but as many new weapons that we have comming out there are other countries doing it too. the reason alot of people thing the f22 is a waste of money is because its ahead of its time and people dont see what the point of half the technology they have. I feel the same way sometime. All in all, there all bad ass jets and i'd take any of them. Must be a sweat ass job to go out and fly them all day. Oh yeah it was still a good airshow. Ill be there next year

to correct some of you out there. the f22 is a great jet, and the super fag is better than it in some ways. for instance, the angle of attack that the 18(e/f) can produce is just out of this world. if some of you will notice, the LEX on the super hornet is much larger than the older legacy. the f22 cost way too much money for the government to make mass quanities of it. now, someone mentioned about the "RAM", both jets have it! also, the hornet is much more solid than the f22. if a raptor were to land on a flight deck, it would fall to pieces. the hornets nose strut is about the size of the raptors main strut. but then again, the raptor would definitley shoot it outta the sky. are the raptors used as much as the super hornets....no. there is no need right now for such a futuristic fighter, its just the AF showing off
to sum this all up, the 18 is a much more mobile jet.

I don't think the Air Force plans on using aircraft carriers anytime in the near decade. or century. or at all for that matter.
The F-14 is the greatest fighter. and its didnt take the navy around 20 years to develop and put into service the F/A-18 E/F like the Air Force did with the F-22. lets face the it F-22 is a cold war aircraft. it never should have went in to service. Brock the closest you ever get to a aircraft is during an air show.

no ive never seen an F-14 before but i only did a cruise with them and work on them for 2 years and went to school for them. but ive never seen an F-14 before.
this is like comparing 80's music to all the new music. just doesnt sound right. do you honestly think the air force is stupid enough to spend twice as much money to put out a jet that is less then what they have before? 99% of people havnt seen the f22 at its full potential. theres a reason they designed it and put it into production. just like when the put the f14 and f18 into production. and by the way the f18 platform was being developed in the 70's. atleast the concept. the government doesnt spend that much money to just show off. its been proven that the f22 can out preform any other jet to this day. atleast in the areas where it counts. like i said the f14 was a great airframe for its times but compaired to some of the jets other countries have it isnt shit. thats the reason the f18 and the f22 came out everyone who talks shit about the f22 should thing the same way as everyone did when the f18 came out, it was a new concept that worked, same with the f22. its a new concept that works, and works well. i am suprised that they plan on retiring the f117 in 2009 though. i guess it doesnt have enough work to do for what it costs to produce.
