I recently just bought a hatch off here and the motor just went. Supposedly it has an ls/vtec with a gsr head with itr valve train . I just took the head apart tonight and i am trying to find out if the cams are true itr cams?? Can Anyone point me in the right direction? Thanks-Bobby


ALSO I took apart my head and it looks like it was cracked and welded. i need to know if its alright to use since i plan to boost. Also on the valve side i need to know if i need to take it to the machine shop to get fixed since the head looks ALL jacked up.

The last picture is what happened to my #3 piston.

 

ITR cams are supposed to have 3 grooves on the end of them. Thats what I saw somewhere. I was told I have them too and did not see any grooves, so I have no real indea. Looking for the same info. I know I don't start making real power til around 6-6,500 rpms and I was told that is becasue of the ITR cams.

THEY HAVE THREE GROOVES ON THE VERY END OF THE CAM ON THE DISTRIBUTOR SIDE.

 

#3 Piston has a nice hole in it.

Whoever built that motor and wired it up should probably never touch a car again. I can't believe some of the things I saw wrong with this car.

 

My Gs-R cams have 3 rings on the end of them....

 

if you want to find out what cams you have go 2 this web site www.ff-squad.com and go under tech and they have a chart that tells you what 2 look 4 on every cam
